#7 Yes to the best and no to the worst

Updated: Apr 25, 2022

Say yes to the best.Your best will be different every day, depending on circumstances, events and environments, however giving it your best shot every day means you live each day to the full and “live life with no regerts”.

Saying yes to the best I can be for me, means staying hungry for excellence, giving my all, 100% in any moment or interaction. I love to celebrate others, give praise and thanks for all the blessings, grace and favour around me. And to not compare myself to others. I love Ernest Hemingway’s quote — 'There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.'

Saying no to the worst for me is about settling for mediocrity or doing the bare minimum required. My worst would be “to be less than I am capable of being” (from Marianne Williamson’s poem the greatest fear), I feel that is a disgrace to myself and to those around me. And the worst for me would be to be common, the same as everyone else, being lost in the crowd, feeling inadequate, undervalued and unworthy.

Our Deepest Fear By Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.

Your playing small Does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking So that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, As children do. We were born to make manifest The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.
