Go Dr Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan for their wonderful book “the gap and the gain”.
I encourage you to say yes to the gain, being grateful for all that you have in your life, the grace, the blessings and the favour. To look back and see all the achievements and accomplishments you have made, all the growth you have had in your life. To have a hope and a future as there is more. And what you focus on expands. So if you want the good stuff in your life, start focusing on the gains, measure them, write them down and watch them grow exponentially.
Say no to the gap. Comparison is the thief of joy. I so remember someone kindly saying to me that there was no point in me trying to be someone else as their life is already taken, living in the gap, trying to be someone I am and comparing myself to those I admire or who are ahead of me completely stalls me and stops me from being me. Duh, I thought I had grasped this years ago and then I became really aware recently that I was back there again….it is one of that factors that has stopped me posting or “going live” for the last 18 months!!! I was feeling lost, was looking at what was missing, looking at the end goal and seeing how far away I was (gap), not how much progress I had made in this time (gain). Envy is another ugly monster that can sit in the gap cycle, wanting what others have, rather than being thankful for what you have and grateful that others have paved the way for you!!
Everyday I say yes to the gain and no to the gap, I track my 1-3 important before urgent and measure my new and good’s, thanking God for the revelations, for His grace and favour each night.
